Kid Craft: Paint-Stamping Fall Trees

Now that I only have Taylor home during the day, I’d like to start to do some crafts with her like I did with Mason when he was this age. As much as I like to craft with ALL of them, one at a time is a little more manageable.. especially when there’s paint involved. 😉

These fall foliage paintings were super easy for Tay, who is 2 years old, and she hasn’t used too much paint yet, so she had a blast!! The only item you really need for these besides paint and paper… is a paper towel or toilet paper roll, cut into pieces as needed!

Whenever I paint with the kids I have a few setup-staples. It may not be very environmentally friendly… but since we don’t paint all that often, I’m alright with it. We use disposable items – newspaper, solo cups, paper plates – as much as possible so that at the end of the craft when everyone is paint happy and their hands are going a mile a minute, I can quickly everything in the newspaper and throw it out before we have a mess. I’m also a little OCD about the colors I give them to paint with, especially if we are doing something that I want to gift someone or use as décor. I pick a few colors that I know will complement each other and mix well. I don’t dictate how they paint with them… but using only a few colors that won’t turn into mud makes all their pictures more visually appealing IMO 😉
