The theme for Mason’s room was really a no brainer, and between my hubby and his parents they have so much firefighting décor and memorobelia that I didn’t have to look far for accent pieces, which makes them even more special. I also try to use some of Mason’s toys as décor, like the extra large firetruck on top of his cube storage… because I’m running out of room for all these frikken trucks and they fit the theme lol!
We are big sticklers for @BenjaminMoore paint. It is totally worth the money, and covers and spreads so much better than some of the cheaper options. The color in Mason’s room is called Bunny Gray and is a light grey with a slight blueish hue.
I mentioned in the post about Taylor’s room that we went with convertible cribs for both Mase&Tay. Mason’s is from Buy Buy Baby. It is the Sorelle Providence 4-in-1 Convertible Crib in Espresso. We also have the matching dresser and they are REALLY solid, heavy pieces of furniture. I think he will grow out of the dresser before the bed TBH, but I think we have plenty of time on both which makes it the best value in my book. Mason has his in the full size conversion now ((STOP GROWING)).
When his bed was in the toddler bed conversion, I got this adorable bedding set from @KidKraft, and although it no longer fits, I still use the comforter as a throw blanket on the end of his bed because I love the print! His “bigboy” bedding was a little bit tough to stick with the theme ((apparently full beds and firetrucks don’t go together?!)) so we went with a plain red comforter from @Target, where we also found the sheets… DALMATION PRINT! ((101Dalmations was the first movie he really got into, AND obviously they are “firedogs”, although I’ve yet to visit a station with a dalmation lol)) Both the sheets and comforter are from the Pillowfort line.
If you haven’t noticed, I have a thing for wall collages. There is at least one in almost every room of the house. For Mason’s, I mixed in some fire pieces with some keepsakes, like the thumbprint tree painting from his baby shower. The fire patches are all from Russ and my father-in law, and I wrapped some twine around a plain wood sign from @Michaels so that the patches can be swapped out, since we obviously have a collection lol. My other fav sign up there is “Keep Calm and Fight Fire”, which my sister gave me at his baby shower also, and she bought off @Etsy.
My other favorite wall piece is the sign Russ made off of my @Pinterest inspo. In our old house when we designed Mason’s nursery, there had been a TV mounted on the wall, and the outlets were all tucked in where the mount was, so I wanted a sign that would be big enough to cover it all. Of course that involved hubs tearing apart pallets one by one to try to get the pieces apart without breaking, and then making them into a custom-sized pallet for the sign. hahah annoying? ya. but worth it.
Mason’s room is the smallest of the three bedrooms but it is still big in personality, and it is ALL his. Pops also bought him his own Google Mini Speaker, so he’s like a teenager lying on his full size bed listening to tunes… and I.cant.even. lol
