Our kids rooms were honestly my favorite to decorate because they show off their personalities. Obviously, when I found out I was having a girl, I immediately started buying everything pink and flowers. I knew I wanted white furniture for her room, but I also wanted to use the glider we had from Mason’s nursery, which was a dark wood stain… so I added in other dark wood accents through shelving and baskets to tie the two together.
We stole a little section of Taylor’s bedroom to make another master closet on the other side of the wall, and because of where the load bearing studs were, we ended up with this little nook. It is kind of an awkward space because the door opens there, but I thought it was the perfect spot for a little reading nook, perfect for this Closetmaid storage bench! I tend to rearrange her shelves quite a bit because I cant seem to decide how I like them, but I do have a few favorite pieces up there. The little silver pails can be found randomly all over our house. I actually bought them on Amazon for our wedding reception for the breadsticks on each table, and have since repurposed them like EVERYWHERE. In Taylor’s room, I filled them with the rest of the fake flowers that were left over after making the “T” above her crib.
I shared this princess unicorn on my Instagram stories the other day as part of my @homegoods haul. It is SO adorable and the perfect color for her room. The small sign next to the unicorn says “you are so loved” and is from @amazon.
Tay’s dressor is the 3-drawer Hemnes from @ikeausa and to add a little something extra I ordered a pack of “crystal” drawer pulls on Amazon which I LOVE. I feel like I need a sign right about where she is sitting, otherwise that wall is still a little bare.
This is the glider I wanted to reuse from Mason’s nursery. It is super comfy but the dark wood stain didn’t quite match the rest of the décor. By adding this cheap mosquito netting from Amazon, I think it helps to soften the look of the chair and adds a nice girly detail to the room. Most of the curtains in my house are from @target and Taylor’s are no exception. Although, the boys have
blackout curtains in their rooms and I kind of wish I hunted harder for a pink set I liked, becaue they area little see-through, and shes also our worst sleeper. Not sure if the two are related lol. The pink fuzzy pillowwas also on sale @homegoods the other day. ((It was a REALLY good Marshalls/Homegoods trip!))
We went with convertible cribs for both Mase&Tay because it just seemed to make sense. Taylor’s is the Southern Dunes Lifestyle 4-in-1 crib by @storkcraft and I believe I ordered it off @amazon. (amazonmom lol). It is a little more light weight than Mason’s set, but still great quality, a little more feminine, and the price couldn’t be beat… especially when you figure how long you will use it by the time you make it into a full size!
This letter T above her crib is one of my FAVORITE girly-décor items. AND it’s DIY!! I bought a sheet of fake flowers on sale at @Michaels as well as a canvas letter T and went to town poking holes and gluing the stems of the flowers into them. AND, sticking with the recycled wedding decor, the pink frames above her crib used to be white and we used them as the seating chart at our wedding! (Refinished with coat of pretty pink spray paint for the pretty pink princess of course.)
Taylor’s whole room is soft and feminine. When she was a newborn, I loved sitting in the glider and letting her fall asleep on my chest… it just feels so relaxed with the mosquito netting!! I still have a couple bare spots on the walls, like the one above her dressor. I was also eyeing some of that removable wallpaper to do an accent wall, has anyone used that stuff?? Easy? Hard? hmmmm.
