DIY House Bed & Girls Bedroom Makeover

Blood, sweat, and swear words went into making Miss Tay her very own custom house bed…. only for her to ask Santa to bring back her crib. 🤣🤣

BUT I LOVE IT!! lol 😂 toddlers 🤪🤪

We upgraded our own bedroom set, so when it was time to make Taylor’s transition out of her crib/toddler bed, we already had a queen sized mattress we planned on using. I went searching high and low (well, across the internet) and could only find full sized, even in DIY plans!

But, leave it to my handy hubby, he used the full size plans from The Design Confidential and changed up the measurements to make a Queen! (Unfortunately, he did not save said measurements 🤣) She may not love it just yet, but I have a feeling it’ll grow on her. Either way, she’s been sleeping in it. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣😍

And while I’m at it…. the other side of her room is pretty cute, too! Since her room isn’t very big and we are now taking up so much of it with a queen bed, we went with another open closet! I painted the back wall to look like wallpaper and Tay helped me add some Minnie decals, because she’s obsessed. 🤣🤷🏼‍♀️ We turned the rods sideways and placed her dresser inside the closet to save space! We may need to reevaluate when she gets older and her closet expands, but for now I love it!!

The main paint color for her walls is Benjamin Moore Pink Essence, and when I painted the accent wall, I mixed that with a red for different shades!

Her light fixture is another from my collaboration with LightsOnline and I love it so much I got two – one for Tay’s room and one in the entryway! It is the Octave Semi-Flush by Savoy House! I love the contrast of the big, clear glass against the matte black, and we don’t have very tall ceilings, so this this semi-flush style is such a great option!

Below you can find details & links on all her decor! (Disclaimer: some of these are affiliate links and gifted products, head to my disclosure page for more info on that, but as usual, you always get my honest opinion!)
