So – let me start by saying I totally failed to take any pictures once the party started and I’m so bummed! BUT on the positive side, I was completely present with my family and we had a great time!
This was the first year we combined Mason and Taylor’s Birthday party, because honestly…. it’s hard to do two parties in the summer, and she doesn’t understand birthday parties yet anyway lol. So, since Mason wanted a LEGO theme, I hopped on PINTEREST and got some ideas! You can see all the inspiration I pinned on my “LEGO Birthday Party” Board… and I will add my take on these ideas to my board, too!
I got most of the décor from the Dollar Tree – they had LEGO themed plates, napkins, and tablecloths, as well as a bunch of solid colored balloons, and solid colored wrapping paper for our wrecking ball activity. I didn’t get any pics of the wrecking ball set up… BUT hop over to my blog post from last years party and you can see it! I just wrapped the boxes is solid primary colors like LEGO blocks instead of the grey, which matched last years construction theme! The kids loved this activity but were 100x more destructive with the boxes this year lol!
The goodie bags and plastic cups were all just plain yellow, and I drew on LEGO faces with a sharpie. The other items for the goodie bags were a few pieces of candy, some stickers, and LEGO lollipops, crayons, & candy blocks which I found on Amazon.
Since it was so hot outside, the kids mostly ran around with water play and we sprayed our bounce house down with the hose to keep them cool. I also found some LEGO Minifigure printouts that had blank faces so that the kids could color and create their own. (I just googled “LEGO minifigure coloring pages” and printed a few out.)
The cakes were so much fun! I had ordered the candy blocks off of Amazon for the goodie bags, and I lined the bottom of the cakes with the rest of the blocks to make a couple rows. You can see my INSPO here on Pinterest for the cake toppers… I was a Master Builder myself creating the “5” and “2” and I let Mason pick out which LEGO Minifigures he wanted to hold up the banner. The banner I made out of some ribbon, tape, and a few scrap pieces of wrapping paper from the boxes!
I seriously can’t believe our kids are getting SO BIG!! Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us! And I hope if you have a little Master Builder of your own, this gives you a few great ideas for party décor!
